Size: W125×H50mm
・This piece is made by pressing thin slices of clay against a plaster mold. (Tatara technique)
・Although using a mold ensures that each piece is the same size, the thin clay is prone to warping, and the degree of warping varies depending on the amount of pressure applied.
・While “warping” may have negative connotations, I view it as the clay moving naturally in the direction it desires, and I cherish the warping that emerges as a tangible expression of my interaction with the clay.
・I apply a thin layer of Bōno-tsu clay—used in the CULTIVATE series—to create a gradient effect on the surface.
・Since each piece is handmade, the color, texture, and shape vary from piece to piece.
